GE FREE VERMONT LAWN SIGN CAMPAIGN
Time Out on GMO Lawn Signs! Vermonters have a long tradition of voicing our opinions in as many ways as we can. Lawn signs are a proven method for getting one's voice heard. More importantly, they're a great tool for letting our legislators know we want them to take a stand on GMO regulations and to recognize that thousands of us are concerned about genetic engineering-what it's impact is on our farms, our food and the environment.
Close to a thousand lawn signs were distributed across Vermont in the latter part of 2004! Thanks to the financial support that largely came from members of the Windham County Genetic Engineering Action Group(WCGEAG), and other supportive individuals, the GEFREEVT campaign was able to make these signs available to whoever wanted one.As a result, thousands of people who saw themĀ on farms and front lawns logged inĀ on this web site to find out WHY we want a moratorium on the planting of GMO crops--or a "Time-Out" on GMO's. In addition, over 26 farms, individual households and stores distributed these signs in almost every county in the state! Again, lawn signs are a proven tool to get out your message--look for a lawn sign peeping out of the snow near you! |
